Math: Test Module 2 tomorrow.  Study guide given on Monday.

Peck Math/Science

Math: The students learned and practice some of the properties regarding absolute value.
Homework: Lesson 11 Exit ticket; They may also complete Question #2 from the Problem Set for Extra Credit!
 
Science: The students compared and contrasted an Elodea leaf and a Paramecium and determined which one was an organism and which one wasn't and why.
Homework: Complete the Think Questions for the article "The Lowly Paramecium".

Science: The students observed a paramecium and recorded its size and behaviors.

Math: The students learned how to write and interpret inequality statements involving rational numbers.
Homework: Lesson 10 Problem Set Questions
 
Science: The students recorded observations of an Elodea leaf when looked at through the microscope.  We also defined a cell.

ELA: none: completed Words Their Way study in class.  Students should have completed categorizing the words on their own.  Ask to see them.
 
Math: Complete page one of GCF and LCM packet. Use prime factorization.

Peck Math/Science

Math: The students learned how to graph rational numbers that fall between integers as well how to determine the opposites.
Homework: Lesson 6 Problem Set
 
Science: The students defined field of view and learned how to determine the size of an object under the microscope at 4X Power.
Homework: None, but there will likely be a quiz on Investigation 2 Thursday or Friday

Math: the students completed the DVMA today in class. 
Homework: None! Tomorrow the students will receive a review packet on integers which will be due on Friday.
 
Science: The students got their tests back and began learning how to use a microscope. Tomorrow the students will be working on a project where they create their own imaginary organism.  This is NOT due on Friday!

Homework: Complete the four Thinking Questions from the article "Life on Earth".

Bolton Math and ELA

Math: Lesson 13, p. 52-53, do exercises 1-6.  Students are practicing division in one of two ways.  Sometimes students struggle with the length of these types of problems.  If they are getting the first 3 or 4 digits correct but keep making little mistakes that cause the final answer to be wrong, don't stress.  We are trying to work on fluency, but in that case the student obviously knows the process.

Math: The students defined and identified positive and negative integers on a number line
Homework: Module 3 Lesson 1 Problem Set  - Complete all questions
 
Science: The students received the Diversity of Life notebook pages and completed the Pretest for this unit.
Homework: PLEASE bring in a binder if possible.  If not, the students need a notebook for this unit and a strong folder to hold the loose pages.
