Math: Periods 1, 2, and 4, completing or fixing nos. 1-8, p. 29 of Percents handout.  Must show solution using Ratio understanding.
 
L.A.: Spelling packet due Thur.  Test Fri.  Reading Group activity began, Be ready for group discussion on Wed. or Thursday, handout due Friday.

Peck-Language Arts/Science

Language Arts: The students completed the Comprehension Quiz for Flavors Then and Now and began reading the article "Space Attack"
Homework: If you need to finish typing your compare/contrast essay it will need to be done at home! Please work on it tonight.
 
Science: The students reviewed for the test and completed a notebook quiz on the content from Investigation 4.
Homework: Study for the test tomorrow!  Study your flow map and be able to explain the lab we did on heating different earth materials!

Math: We are spending a couple of days practicing Percents of a Whole using Ratio Thinking.  Parents, please read and sign the Common Core Practices letter being sent home today.  Here's a link if you have lost it.  A Case for Common Core Practices.

Science: We reviewed radiant energy and how it transfers to different earth materials and heats our earth.
Homework: Read the article about the creation of the thermometer and answer the questions.  Answers are due Tuesday!

WANT TO GO TO CAMP SURF AS A CHAPERONE????

While we have not picked chaperones for the trip yet, EVERY parent going will have to have completed the Volunteer Training.  The easiest one to attend,for most people, is THIS Thursday Sept 5th at 7:00pm in the school cafeteria.  Other trainings will be held during the day in upcoming months.
 
The training doesn't take very long- under an hour.  So, if you are interested in being a chaperone for this trip- or volunteering in the school- please attend!!
