Bolton Math and ELA

Math: Problem Set Lesson 7, p. 33
 
ELA: complete Centers from the week.

Peck Math/Science

Math: The students completed the Mid-Module Quiz for Module 2 today.  Overall they did a super job!
Homework: None!
 
Science: The students completed a notebook quiz in preparation for the Investigation 6 Test tomorrow. 
Homework: Study your quiz, study guide, and notes!
 
Harkins Fundraiser orders are due tomorrow!

Bolton Math and ELA

Math: p. 26 Problems set # 1 and 2
 
ELA: Center work and complete body paragraphs of practice Cause and Effect essay.

Peck Math/Science

Math: The students practice multiplying decimals and began reviewing for the Mid Module 2 Quiz.  We will go over the review before the quiz.
Homework: Complete the Review Packet for the Mid-Module 2 Quiz
 
Science: The students graphed Sounding Data for specific cities then predicted the weather.  The students were given a study guide to help prepare for the Investigation 6 Quiz on Friday.  They should practice this information and be prepared to ask questions tomorrow if there is something they do not understand.
Homework: Look over the Study Guide!  Test on Friday!

SOCIAL STUDIES TEST ON THURSDAY

The students were given the two essay-type question on Wednesday.  They had the opportunity to look up the answers and write them down.  They may not use these written answers on the test, however. They will be allowed to use their Cornell notes- and because of this assistance- I have moved the test up by one day.

Peck Math/Science

Math: The students practiced strategies to solve multiplication with decimal problems.
Homework: Complete the 4 Exercise Problems in Lesson 11
 
Science: The students analyzed radiosonde data from a weather balloon and predicted weather conditions based on the data.
Homework: None

ELA: Close Reading and first 7 questions for article, "A Challenge for Everyone."

Peck Math/Science

Math: The students used the distributive property to multiply decimals by whole numbers.
Homework: Lesson 10 Problem Set
 
Science: The students shared their projects that reinforced the steps involved in the formation of a cloud
Homework: Complete Thinking Questions 1-4 after reading the article "Observing Clouds".  Question #5 is Extra Credit.

Stewart- math

P 19,20,21 all.  Division of Fractions

SOCIAL STUDIES

Ancient Egypt TEST on Friday.  Students may use their Cornell notes on the test.
Monday- packet on Sec 3 and Sec 4 DUE Tuesday

Math: The students converted fraction problems into decimal form in order to solve them.
Homework: Lesson 9 Problem Set 1a-e and 2a/b
 
Science: The students created a cloud and learned how pressure, condensation, and condensation nuclei work together to form a cloud.
Homework: None

STEWART- Social Studies/Math

Social Studies- p. 59 9 vocab words (due Friday)  TEST IN ONE WEEK NOV. 21st  Students may use Cornell notes on the test.  If they are missing any pages it is their responsibility to get those notes from another student.
 
Math- Division with fractions.  Packet due on Friday

ELA: Scholastic Scope p. 19-21, read for information. Next class, writing a cause/effect essay.

Peck Math/Science

Math: The class practiced changing mixed numbers into improper fractions so they cold complete division problems.
Homework: Complete the division problems A-K using the "cards" from the activity.
 
Science: The students pondered dew point questions and reviewed why/how dew points occur.
Homework: None
 
*Camp Surf deposits are due tomorrow! $75 made out to Arrowhead Elementary

STEWART- Social Studies/ Math

Social Studies- p. 52 1-5 
  (There will be a test next week.  Students may use their Cornell notes on the test.)

Math: none, exploring fraction division by whole numbers in class.
 
ELA: unfinished Center work.

Peck Math/Science

Math: The students discovered what a reciprocal fraction is and used this to find the quotient to a division problem involving fractions. We also practiced using a partitive division to solve problems.
Homework: None
 
Science: The students found the current dew point temperature in our room and compared it to the actual dew point.  We were REALLY close!! (Some groups were spot on!)
Homework: Complete the Dragon's Breath Think Questions

Math: The students continued to practice and come up with strategies to divide fractions by whole numbers and whole numbers by fractions.
Homework: Lesson 3 Problem Set/Exit Ticket
 
Science: The students discovered where energy traveled to and from during evaporation.
Homework: None
 
*Book Orders due Wednesday November 12th
*Family Night this Thursday from 6-7.  Pizza will be served from 5-6 in the cafeteria

Math: Study for District Test on Module 1 (Ratios) tomorrow.  We have been reviewing for the past week.
 
ELA: Any center activity not completed in class is due tomorrow.  Focus is on Citing Text Evidence to support any written answers or essays.

Peck Math/Science

Math: We learned how to divide fractions by whole numbers and whole numbers by fractions. 
Homework: Complete Exercise 1 ONLY from Lesson 2
 
Science: We discovered that there is indeed water vapor in the air and we proved it with evidence.
