Peck-Science Homework

There will be no class for Period 2 today or tomorrow!

Periods 3-5 created there own insect complete with unique structures and adaptations. There job was to create a colored drawing and describe the habitat, eating habits and defenses of their insect using the information we learned in class. This task is hopefully going to help prepare the students for tomorrow's test on Investigation 9.

HW: Finish drawing and be prepared for test on Inv. 9. Science Fair Projects are due tomorrow!! Bring in your Presentation board AND your Packet!!!

Peck-Science Homework

The students had a discussion about how the different structures of insects determine the type of habitat they live in and the adaptations they will use to survive.  The students also identified certain insects based on the structures provided, then predicted what type of habitat the insects probably live in. 

HW: There is no homework due for tomorrow, but remember that your Science Fair Project is due on Wednesday  May 11th, and we will have the Investigation 9 Test that day as well!

Peck-Science Homework

The students conducted several different experiments on the hissing cockroaches over these two days, wrote up a lab report, and worked on a conclusion which was all due Thursday.  We carried on an open class discussion to share our findings and come to conclusions regarding cockroach adaptation and structures. 
 
HW: Read "Those Amazing Insects" and answer the Thinking Questions at the end of the article. Due Friday! 
*We will have a test on Investigation 9 on Tuesday May 10th.

Today the students observed specific behaviors of the Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches and recorded them on a lab sheet.  From these observations, the students formulated questions that could possibly be used to set up an experiment that the table groups will conduct later in the week.
