Peck Language Arts/Science

Language Arts: The students created Power Point Presentations for the vocabulary we are learning in Number the Stars
Homework: Chapter 7 Questions due Friday - Don't forget your spelling packets too!
 
Science: We made clouds and lava lamps today which enhanced our understanding of density and the convection process.
Homework: None!

Peck Language Arts/Science

Language Arts: The students discussed Chapter 6 and began reading chapter 7 of Number the Stars
Homework: Chapter 7 Questions are due Friday
 
Science: The students discussed how pressure, temperature, condensation, and evaporation are involved in the formation of clouds
Homework: Bring in 2C of vegetable oil, small disposable water bottle and a Clear 2 Liter bottle if you have one!

Bolton Math and L.A.

Math: Algorithm Handout for division, complete front side, leave back side for class tomorrow.
 
L.A.: Spelling packet due, CLOSE reading handout and grammar corrections from Scholastic SCOPE (pp. 22-23)

Stewart- ELA

We are starting a Learning Cycle of Greek and Latin Roots.
Your child has been given a list of 10 root words that will be added to the spelling list (and test) for this week.
I will give them the word and they will write down the meaning.  For a bonus point they can give me a new word (not one of the examples from any of the information given out) that uses the root word.
 
Reading- Where is Security? Comprehension/ Vocab due on Thursday.

SOCIAL STUDIES

Finished a packet on Sparta and Athens.
We will be working on an art project the next two days.
No homework

Language Arts: The students presented their extension projects from Number the Stars. and began reading Chapter 6.
Homework: Questions from Chapter 6
 
Science: The students calculated the relative humidity in our classroom using wet/dry bulb thermometers.
Homework: Complete the Thinking Questions from the article, "Dragon's Breath"
