The students practiced going through the water cycle using the FOSS Website and reviewed how usable fresh water is so scarce on our planet.
Homework: The students need to complete the reading "Earth: The Water Planet" and answer the questions. They also need to finish the Water Cycle Drawing they were working on in class today. We will also have a SHORT quiz tomorrow over Investigation 7.

We reviewed what the Water Cycle is and how it works. The students also watched a video that discussed Hydrology and what hydrologists do in their career.
Homework: Read "Earth: The Water Planet" and answer the questions on the half sheet of paper in your spirals. Due Thursday! We also have a short quiz on Investigation 7 Thursday!

We reviewed what a weather balloon is and how it helps predict the weather and study climate change. The students worked on the study guide in preparation for tomorrow's test on Inv. 6. The study guide is not due as an assignment, but is a HUGE tool for being successful tomorrow!

I apologize for not posting yesterday's homework. Fortunately everyone was prepared today! We reviewed how a cloud is formed and wrote the 5 main steps involved in cloud formation. The students also competed a reading on Observing Clouds and answered the 5 questions at the end.
Homework: If you did not finish the Thinking Questions at the end of the article, they are due for Monday!
Reminder! If you are entering the Cloud Poem Contest, your poem needs to be on a separate piece of paper with your name and period.

The students went on a field trip to the AZ Science Center today. They visited many different exhibits within the center and participated in a Junior Forecasters Program with the meteorologists at Channel 3 News.

Today the students reviewed evaporation and condensation. I performed a demonstration that showed how increased pressure can cause an increase in temperature. The students discussed what they observed and came to this conclusion that an increase in pressure causes an increase in temperature.
No Homework tonight!
